I am a semi-retired professor who still hasn't quite left the classroom. I teach, however, in the virtual classroom. I can be in Russia, Spain or Mexico and still keep in touch with my students. What a world we live in!
In addition to professing—which I do very little of, I do spend a lot of time traveling. Even our ski trips have turned into a few days at the mountain rather than the "pack up, drive, suit up, ski and drive home again" model. Retirement when one is healthy is truly a gift that I intend to maximize.
Wondering which one is me in the photo? This is a picture of my Mexican friend Gabriella, my partner Dave and myself in that order(l. to r.). We were in Mexico during the winter months('09-'10) and this is how we dressed. It was so cold with no central heat! Hence the jackets. We found the consignment shops a godsend, Just like the NW, layers were the order of the day.Fashion was not the order of the day, simply comfort from the cold.
